Gunmen have killed a couple along a junction near Umunya Axis of Enugu -Onitsha Express Road of Anambra State and dumped their corpses inside the boot of a Toyota Corolla car on Wednesday morning.
Penpushing reports that sources said residents of the area discovered the couples’ bodies in the car which parked at a lonely place along a junction near Umunya Axis of Enugu -Onitsha Express Road in the state.
The sources added that blood was coming out from the boot when some of the residents saw it on Wednesday, adding that from indications it looks like the man and woman were killed in the night
Penpushing further reports that the Anambra State Police Command Public Relations Officer Ikenga Tochukwu when contacted confirmed the incident adding that preliminary investigations showed that the couple was murdered and abandoned in the vehicle by the hoodlums.
The police spokesperson, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said operatives attached to the Oyi Division have recovered and deposited the bodies in a mortuary, explaining that the operatives also recovered the abandoned vehicle and some expended cartridges at the scene, and that investigations into the attack had begun.
