The Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation has been honoured with award of International Ambassador of Drug Abuse Prevention, with the President of the foundation, Dapo Wahab decorated by Mr. Satrya Ika Putra, Head of the National Narcotic Board of South Tangerang, Indonesia
Penpushing reports that the accolade was a direct result of the comprehensive evaluation of the foundation’s remarkable efforts in the field of drug abuse prevention, in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Ogun State Command.
The President of the foundation in his address lamented the global scale of the drug abuse and illicit trafficking issue, and emphasized urgent need for cross-agency cooperation and partnerships with reputable Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) like Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation.
Penpushing further reports that Wahab noted that the far-reaching adverse effects of drug abuse on various aspects of life, including the economy, health, social fabric, security, and politics, while he took time to expressed appreciation on the recognition
The President of the body pledged the foundation’s unwavering commitment to the cause, both in Nigeria and Indonesia, and also used the opportunity to present War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) souvenirs produced by the foundation to the board.
Penpushing also reports that Satrya Ika Putra lauded the efforts of Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Ogun State Command, underscoring the board’s role in coordinating activities related to the availability, supply, prevention, and eradication of narcotic abuse and illicit trafficking.
The ceremony programme include presentation of a book titled ‘The Truth About Drugs, published by the Anti-Drug Board (BNN), while those in attendance include Mrs. Fiona Indah Fitriana, Mrs. Ulimaz Dea Fahira of the Prevention and Community Empowerment Unit, Mr. Tosin Edun, the Alternate Director for International Relations and Strategic Partnerships, and Esther Dangsosu, Founder/Director of Prospace Indonesia Jaya.
