The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a man, Taye Agbaje for allegedly slaughtering two children of his younger brother in Kemta area of Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital on August 5,2023.
Penpushing reports that the alleged killer on the said day, went to his brother’s house and took away the innocent girls on a motorcycle without the knowledge of their parents who were said not to be around.
The sources said the father, Idowu Agbaje on return home discovered that the girls were missing and had to raise alarm, adding that a neighbour later informed the disturbed father that he saw the two girls on a motorcycle with the suspect who is his elder brother.
Penpushing further reports that a resident said when the suspect was accused of taken the girls on a motorcycle from the home of their parents he denied, as well as not knowing their whereabout, but that he only took them to the market.
‘Taye denied knowing the whereabouts of the girls. When people said they saw him with the girls, he said he only took them to the market. He was taken to Kemta police division, where he later confessed to have killed the girls. Taye took the police to the bush where he slaughtered the two girls and left their bodies’, the resident said.
‘We all saw the bodies before the police evacuated them to the mortuary. Taye did not give any particular reason for his action, he only said the mother of the kids had spiritually taken his glory for her husband. This is very shocking,” the resident stated
Penpushing also reports that Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola, when contacted confirmed the incident, describing it as incomprehensible, adding that the suspect had been quizzed and taken into custody.
The police spokesperson said the suspect did not give any specific reason for his action to have killed the girls, and he did not show any sign of remorse, rather he was claiming that he was pushed by Satan to commit the crime
