The officials of the Nigerian Navy have reportedly invaded Enerhen police station, near Warri, in Delta State and allegedly assaulted a police officer, who was seen in a video clip moving about restlessly inside the premises of the police station, surrounded by angry colleagues who were appealing to him to stay calm.

Penpushing reports that the one minute, 30 seconds clip showed the assaulted officer with his uniform partially torn and with a bloodied face  as he briefly stepped out of the gate, before the camera quickly panned to where some armed naval officials stood a few meters away from the gate of the police premises.

The Twitter user in the posted the video, also showed the assaulted officer pulled off his shirt and hastened towards the gate, apparently to go after the naval officials who allegedly assaulted him, while a voice was calling his name, Kingsley not to take law into his hands

“Una own don finished! Una own don finished! Una own don finished! Una come beat police for police station. New bastard navy, beating police in the police station’, the background voice in the clip was heard rebuking the action of the naval officials.

Penpushing further reports that the camera moved closer to a naval official who appeared to be making a phone call, and then quickly panned to another scene where a police officer fiercely took on one of the naval officials.

The video clip, however, ended abruptly with a sound of footsteps, as if someone was hurrying away maybe to go fetch the tear gas for the officer who was shouting in the video background, but it was not yet clear what might be the cause of the incident

Penpushing also reports that as at the time of filing this report when the Delta State Police Command Public Relations Officer Bright Edafe, was contacted  said the authority of the police was treating the matter internally, while the  naval authorities had not yet issued a statement on the incident.
