College of Broadcasting Abeokuta produces 1st set of certified graduates

The College of Broadcasting, affiliate of Crescent University, Abeokuta has produced first set of graduating students among the total number of 446 graduates of the institution which was the 14th convocation ceremony.

Penpushing reports that the ceremony held at the university campus on Km 5 Ayetoro road, Lafenwa in Abeokuta had in attendance number of dignitaries within and outside the country which include Chief Olusegun Osoba, former Governor of Ogun State and Emir of Kazaura, Alhaji Najib Hussaini Adamu who is the Pro-Chancellor of the university among others

The graduands who were confirmed as certified broadcasters by the university authorities include Musiliu Sanni, Saheed Amidu, Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji, Sunkami Oyejide, Esther Famosun, Akinloye Bankole, Ayobami Ismail and Monsuru Olalekan.

Penpushing further reports that others are Hakeem Adegbenro, Silas Iji, Olimde Awolowo, Peter Ogunleye, Owoyabu Soliu, Yetunde Aisida, Michael Ogunleye, Adeola Adeyemi, Olusoji Akindiya and  Aderoju Ogundiran

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila in his speech at the well-attended convocation held at the main auditorium of the Institution, disclosed that the university, enjoys full accreditation of all its academic programmes including LLB.Law, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Microbiology, Islamic Studies, Mass Communication, Architecture, Biochemistry, Economics, Businesses Administration and Political Science and International Studies

Penpushing also reports that he explained that the university during the academic session matriculated 623 fresh students across various departments while erring students were suspended for anti-social vices and indecent dressing among others by the University Senate

The Vice-Chancellor, assured that the university would continue to uphold its high standard academic,  will not compromise quality, and shall continue in quest to computerize all academic activities, making the institution a 21st century compliant

“We do not compromise quality, therefore priority is given to ensure high quality of our programmes leading to full accreditation. We shall continue in our quest to computerize all academic activities thereby making the University 21st Century compliant in all ramifications”, Gbajabiamila added

Penpushing reports that, Gbajabiamila charged the graduands to look to the future with confidence, stating that  the university had properly equipped them to succeed, pointing out that education of integrity and moral excellence should guide them  always so that they can be an inspiration to those around them.

The proprietor of the university , Prince  Bola Ajibola, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria(SAN) assured stakeholders including parents, staff and students that the university would continue to sustain the rate of infrastructural development to create conducive learning environment while appreciating the parents for the support so far

Penpushing further reports that, the former World Court Judge, represented by his son, Segun Ajibola who is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), a member of the Institution’s board of trustees said the university authorities cannot rest on its oars, but must continually strive to raise the bar of excellence, through mutual efforts that will ensure seamless delivery of educational objectives

The university also conferred three prominent Nigerians who distinguished themselves in their respective fields with honorary Doctorate Degrees, including the Osi of Egbaland, Chief Olabode Mustapha with Honorary Degree of Doctor of Political Science and International Studies, the Ekaarun Olubadan of  Ibadanland, Chief Adebayo Akande with Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science in Business Administration and Hajia Mosun Belo-Olusoga, a Lead Consultant/Chief Executive Officer of the Knowledge and Resource Centre Limited who was honoured with Degree of Doctor of Science in Finance
