General Olurin to be buried in Lagos September 24

The former Military Governor of old Oyo State, Brigadier General Adetunji Olurin, who died on August 21st, 2021 at a Lagos Hospital at the age of 76 would be buried in Lagos on Friday, September 24.

Penpushing reports that, this was made known in a statement issued by Chairman Planning Committee for the burial Otunba Akeem Adigun, adding that President Olusegun Obasanjo will lead other dignitaries to the burial event.

The programme has it that, a service of song and tributes will take place on Saturday,18,2021 at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Ilaro, his hometown at 11am, and Thursday, 23/9/21  Service of Songs and Tributes at the Army Officers’ Mess Marina Lagos at 5 pm.

Penpushing further reports that,the statement added that, on Friday, 24,  at 11.00 am, there will be a funeral service  at Victoria Fellowship Church, Alma Beach Estates, VFC Close Lekki-Epe Expressway, while internment follows at Vaults and Gardens Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria( FRCN) close off Federal Secretariat Road Ikoyi Lagos.

The statement explained that the programme is being put together by the Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde  Olugbenle and the Yewa People Development Council, an umbrella body of Yewa Clubs and Associations.

The Chairman of the Planning Committee explained that the programme at Ilaro is one of the various burial arrangements put in place to honour Olurin as a distinguished son of Yewaland, adding the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun will lead government officials and guests to the occasion.

Penpushing also reports that, it will be recalled that, Olurin who was also former Governotrship Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Ogun State died on August 21st, 2021 at a Lagos Hospital at the age of 76.
