Penpushing reports that, the government in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Oyo State Governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, explained that the closure of the market came from Governor Seyi Makinde to forestall breakdown of law and order in the area,

The ststement added that in effect, the curfew  has also been imposed between  6 p.m. to 7 a.m, with a call on residents of the affected area to go about their legitimate businesses peacefully, declaring that that anyone caught perpetrating violence  or turning devil ears to the order will face the wrath of the law.

“His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde has directed the immediate closure of Shasha market indefinitely following reports of a breach of peace in the area. The governor has also approved the imposition of curfew on Shasha.
