The Ondo State Chapter of Southwest Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) under the banner of Youth Alliance, on Monday called on their colleagues in the zone to vote Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the next President of Nigeria in next year’s presidential election.
Penpushing reports that, the call came from the group coordinator, Comrade Folorunso Makinde while addressing gathering of youths at the “2023 Rescue Nigeria Project” programme held at the Akure city hall in Akure, the Ondo State Capital describing the party presidential candidate as an experience politician who is capable of leading Nigeria to economic recovery.
“We are presently in a mess as a result of the misrule of the Buhari-led administration. The All Progressive Congress (APC) administration has landed us into economic and security challenges. Lives and properties are no longer secured in this country. I am calling on my fellow youth in the South-West zone to support the Atiku/Okowa ticket. It is a ticket that will lead us to economic stability,” he said.
Penpushing further reports that the former Deputy Governor of Ekiti state who was the special guest of honour at the event, Professor Kolapo Eleka in his own remarks urged the youth to rise up and deliver Atiku as the next president, stressing that the former Vice President will turn things around for good if elected.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of “South-West Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Youth Ambassador” award to Mr. Ayo Idowu by the group,and while presenting the award the North Central Zonal youth leader, Comrade Aruwa Ismaila described the recipient as a hardworking young man cum successful businessman who has contributed immensely to youth development programmes in Nigeria.
Penpushing also reports that, in attendance at the event were Micheal Ogunsina, Oyo state youth leader, Oyejide Sunkanmi, Ogun state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Youth leader, Aare Amerijoye Donald, Ekiti Youth leader and Agboola Dare , Lagos Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) youth leader.
