The Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN) Ogun State Chapter will on Tuesday engage Gubernatorial and National Assembly Candidates of all political parties in the state in a round table discussions ahead of the forthcoming general elections
Penpushing reports that this was made known in a press statement by the Chairman of the Committee, Engr Olumayowa adding that the scheduled event was in line with the association’s objective to transmit the aggregate views of professionals on matters of public interest to the intending political leaders.
“The Ogun State Chapter of APBN is organizing professional roundtable political discussion for all Gubernatorial and National Assembly Candidates of all political parties in Ogun State. The event will hold on Tuesday 7th February, 2023 at St. Mathias Hall, Crowther Graduate Theological Seminary, Isale Igbein, Abeokuta by 2pm. The event is planned to be covered by partner Radio and TV Stations”, he explained
“The event is intended to give various party candidates opportunities to discuss their agenda for the state as it relates to the Professionals. As Professional bodies, we strongly believe the upcoming election should be an honest contest of developmental ideas for the state and country at large. APBN desire to know where professionals stand on the issues impacting our dear state”, Idowu added
Penpushing further reports that the statement disclosed that party candidates expected at the event include those of African Democratic Congress (ADC), All Progressives Congress (APC), Allied People’s Movement (APM), Labour Party (LP), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Social Democratic Party (SDP) and The New Nigeria’s People Party (NNPP).
The Committee Chairman emphasized that the event is not a political rally,hence party supporters/fans will therefore not be expected to be present at the secured venue of the programme.
Penpushing also reports that the association is a non – profit organization comprising of twenty -nine professional bodies, whose main objective is to provide Nigeria with an effective forum for transmitting to government, the aggregate views of the nation’s professionals on matters of public interest which they are competent to express informed and enlightened views.
Meanwhile, Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN was given official Federal Government recognition as the third leg of the organised private sector (OPS) in January, 1992.
