The look alike of the Nobel Laurette, Prof Wole Soyinka, Abiodun Lasile is set to celebrate his 60th birthday anniversary with a church service and commissioning of a library on January 1, 2023 at Owu community of Egbaland, Ogun State
Penpushing reports that the celebrator has grown, over the years, from being a noteworthy broadcaster at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) to attain the enviable image of a national opinion moulder, and after retiring at the station, he has taken to writing and making progressive comments on mass and electronic media.
The literary efforts of Lasile have been rewarded with many publications at bookshelves, bookshops, libraries and secondary schools across the country, and he has industriously expanded the passion for broadcasting and literary pursuits to embrace creative designs and branding in his line of commercial publishing.
Penpushing further reports that Lasile has a profound interest in the well-being of one and all, irrespective of tribe, gender, creed or culture, who has character trait that has driven him into featuring regularly on the discussion of issue-based challenges on radio, television and social media platforms.
The 60 -year old man is always eager to get involved in proffering solutions, whether the issue concerns local communities or has to do with any of the various problems of the country, and he is ever committed to supporting any moves or programmes that will accelerate the pace of development in any group or community.
Penpushing also reports that Lasile is especially at home with children and unto whom he has dedicated his Reading Culture programmes and advocacies, with the programmes, designed to encourage the habit of reading amongst youngsters, these have been gaining wide acceptance in Ogun State and other parts of the country.
The celebrator has many children’s books to his credit and still counting, while some of these books have been approved as Literature in English textbooks in Ogun, Abia, Akwa Ibom and Anambra States of Nigeria.
