The Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC) on Thursday organized its 2023 Christmas Carol held at the church headquarters located along Abeokuta–Ajebo road, Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital, where thousands of Christians converged to celebrate.
Penpushing reports that it was atmosphere of splendour and sweet serenades with congregants and invited guests adorning apparels of colours green, blue, purple and red, they uniquely blended with the mood of the season.
The General Overseer Apostle Lawrence Achudume in his sermon on the theme ‘Oba Ogo'(King of Glory), took attendees down memory lane reminding them of the reason for the season as well as the immeasurable joy that comes with Christmas.
Penpushing further reports that Achudume pointed out that Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, not only suffered, but was rejected when she became pregnant, and rhetorically asked how many people can withstand turbulent times and trying moments, noting that Mary was able to overcome all that happened because of her faith and firm belief in the supremacy of God.
‘Can you be a Mary? Just imagine what would have been her experience if she were to be alive today. With the things going on in our world, people denying the existence of God. Science is trying to proof to man that there is no God. Until you taste His Power, you can’t know that Jesus is Lord’, Achudume emphasized
Penpushing also reports that the cleric opined that many people would not have believed that Mary could get pregnant supernaturally, if such occurrence had taken place in this present day, particularly with the Internet buzz and technology.
The General Overseer admonished the doubting Thomases who do not believe in the existence of God to jettison such thought, adding that such people need to taste his supernatural existence to believe, and equally harped on the need for those occupying positions of authority to always remember that such status is just temporary, submitting that God would always hold the ace till the end of time.
Penpushing reports that Achudume taking his Bible verse from the book of Psalm chapter 24 verse 8, he said that everyone has a level of glory, but that irrespective of the level, there is a King that is the beginning and end of glory.
The Christmas Service which had in attendance Ministers of God, top government functionaries, members of the fourth estate of the realm, among others, witnessed special music renditions, reading of four special lessons from the Holy Bible, and photo sessions.
