The traditional ruler of Ogunmakin community in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba James Sodiya has written to the management of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) over inability of his community to access new naira notes.
Penpushing reports that the royal father in the letter addressed to the Abeokuta branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) raised alarm over the plights of his subjects, particularly traders who have become major victims of the unavailability of the cash.
The monarch explained that the situation and the plights got worsen over non-availability of any commercial banks or Automated Teller Machines in his jurisdiction comprising of over 52 villages, which is Ward 12 in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the State
Penpushing further reports that while passionately appealing to the authorities to come to the aid of the community and the innocent residents, Sodiya emphasized that there is also need to facilitate at least a commercial bank with Automated Teller Machines (ATM) in the community
The traditional ruler, who is Olu of Ogunmakin, however, forwarded copies of the letter to Chairman Obafemi/Owode Local Government, Osile Oke-Ona Egbaland, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso, Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs
