The founder of Shafaudeen in Islam International, Prof. Sabit Olagoke on Wednesday warned Boko Haram terrorists to stop parading themselves as Muslim, saying that the group  tarnish Muslims image by doing contrary to the doctrine of Islam.

Penpushing reports that Olagoke gave the caution note while speaking as the Guest Speaker during the 4th Annual Ramadan lecture of Sport Writers Association of Nigeria, (SWAN), Oyo State Chapter held at Nigerian Union of Journalists Press Center, Iyaganku Ibadan.

The lecturer addressing the  theme: “Fasting During Pandemic; The Takeaways”, noted that Bokoharam are violating scripture as Islam stipulated, saying that no religion support killing and taking of another’s lives.

Penpushing further reports that he noted that, though the terrorists group were called Muslim, but they have nothing to show for it, adding that Boko Haram belong to those that cannot defend the course of the holy book of Quran.

“Those whose habit and character negate the teachings of Quran are never Muslim, they belong to the class if Islam that belong to sanity, even when they are fasting, they are only suffering for misconceptions, misunderstanding and they are never scripture compliance’,

‘They are only fighting on the interest of vengeance. Nigerian insecurity is artificially driven, who ever that hate knowledge is not a Muslim, those who says no to western education are never a Muslim.”

Penpushing also reports that Olagoke however called on Journalists across the nation, to always dwell in investigative journalism so as not to become unnecessary controversial, adding that journalists are crucial part of nation building.

The Professor maintained that journalism represent light to the world so that people in darkness can be enlightened, urging them to always stand on the platform of integrity because the future of the country rest on them.

“You should not manufacture news, but rather dwell on facts and figures; objectivity should be your watchword, always lead by example”, the gurest lecturer told media practitioners

Penpushing reports that the chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ) in Oyo State, Comrade  Ademola Babalola in his welcome address, lauded the organizers of the Ramadan lecture, describing it as right step in the right direction.
