The immediate past Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Edward Ajogun has added another feather to his cap, as he was bestowed with honour of excellence, courtesy of the So-Safe Corps, a security arm of Ogun State Government

Penpushing reports that, the ceremony to appreciate Ajogun was held on Friday at the Police Officers Mess located within Government Reservation Area, (GRA), Ibara, Abeokuta, and had in attendance security chiefs of other agencies.

The Commander of So-Safe-Corps, Dr Soji Ganzallo in his speech at the ceremony commended Ajogun for his giant strides as the police commissioner in the state, recalling that  synergy with other security agencies during his tenure was responsible for his good performances.

Penpushing further reports that, Ganzallo disclosed that the So-Safe-Corps appreciated the awardee for his diligent works while in the service of policing, describing him as an icon of community policing.

“This is a man that is down to earth. This is a man that will not hide his feelings anytime, anyday, no matter who you are to him, and this is a man that I can actually call an ambassador of people policing’, he added.

“He is being celebrated because he knows the nitty-gritty of the police force, and we have something for him to show that he served in Ogun state diligently and we appreciate him”,Ganzallo emphasized

Penpushing also reports that, the Commander of So-Safe-Corps pointed out that the former commissioner deserved the award of excellence for his contributions to the fight against insecurity in the state during his tenure.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Security,  Olushola Subair, a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, in his remarks said  the state government will continue to empower the security outfit to carry effective operations at all time

“At the inception of this administration, when vehicles and communication equipments for security were distributed, the So-Safe Corps also benefited from it. The government is also looking into the enumeration of the So-Safe Corps personnels. We have put up some documents and very soon, something will be done in enhancing the welfare of the officers”, he stated

Penpushing reports that, in his own contributions, Commander of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps  (TRACE), Seni Ogunyemi, pointed out that the former Commissioner of Police  while in office created a robust synergy with other sister security agencies, which will remain a reference point

The former commissioner and the awardee in his response expressed appreciation to  the So-Safe Corps for the honours bestowed on  him, noting that it is a further testament that good works facilitates positive results

Penpushing further reports that, dignitaries at the event include; Lanre Bankole(Ogun State Commissioner of Police), Mohammed Bashir(from Department of State Security).Ishaku Kwajafa (National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency), Aina Oluwakayode (Amotekun  Corps), Onyema John Anayo (Nigeria Immigration Service), Tijani Atahiru Saliu (Department of Intelligence Agency), Olumide Adebajo (Federal Road Safety Corps) and Comrade. Sanni Ogundele (Police Community Relations) and Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji(Founder Penpushing Media).
