The Founder of One Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has advocated 60 years imprisonment without an option of fine, for originators of  fake news and those engaged in its spread in Nigeria.

Penpushing reports Maharaj Ji made the declaration on Sunday at a press conference held  in Ibadan the Oyo state capital, pointing out and expressed concern over the spread of  misinformation which he noted is almost becoming norms and  currently having serious negative impact on the country and its citizens.

The living perfect master, as fondly called emphasized that imprisonment of 60 years without an option of fine for any offender of fake news would discourage others who are interested engaging  in such dubious  act, stressing that they would be compelled to think twice before venturing into the illegality.

Penpushing further reports that,Maharaj Ji declared that  fake news,no doubt, an avenue of set back, hence  urgent and proactive measures should be taken to address the menace by the appropriate authorities to flush  out the perpetrators for conducive  and better society, just as he encouraged the National Assembly to urgently pass a bill criminalising fake news in Nigeria for the good of the country.

“The National Assembly must act fast as fake news is having a negative effect in all facets of our lives in Nigeria. Misinformation should be taken seriously in this country. Imaging you have accused someone of something and tarnish such person’s image and at the end of the day we find out that such is not true”,he stated

Penpushing also reports that, he called on Nigerian leaders to always be mindful that they were in power for the benefits of common people and not for their selfish and personal gains, urging them to take care of youths for peace, progress and development of the country.

Penpushing  reports that Maharaj Ji in related development called for adequate funding of the judiciary and make it to be truely independent,as well as the enforcement of the law banning phonograph and medical tourism, while  the immunity of the Governors should also be removed.
