The Nigeria’s immediate past High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, has celebrated Alhaji Nojeem Jimoh on his 74th birthday.
Penpushing reports that Isola in the congratulatory message described the celebrator as an exceptional elder brother, trusted confidant and a man of integrity, adding that the occasion offered an opportunity not only to celebrate Jimoh’s age but also to acknowledge his contributions to the lives of people around him.
The former diplomat described Jimoh as an “Egbon in the truest sense of the word,” noting that he had consistently demonstrated the responsibilities that come with seniority through guidance, encouragement and courageous counsel.
Penpushing further reports that he stated that, Jimoh’s impact goes beyond the positions he may have occupied or his personal accomplishments, stressing that his greatest contribution lies in the lives he has touched, the counsel he has offered and the relationships he has nurtured over the years.
“I have had the privilege of knowing him closely, and I can testify to his qualities as an Egbon in the truest sense of the word. He has consistently demonstrated the responsibilities that come with seniority — providing guidance when it is needed, offering encouragement when the road becomes difficult and speaking truth with courage, even when it may not be the easiest thing to say’, Isola stated
Penpushing also reports that he equally praised Jimoh’s qualities as a confidant, particularly his discretion, sincerity and maturity, which, he said, had earned him the trust of many, noting that Jimoh was a thoughtful listener who carefully weighed issues before offering counsel without seeking to impose his views on others.
The former diplomat said the 74-year-old represented a generation whose values remained relevant to contemporary society, particularly at a time when public life was increasingly characterised by impatience, self-interest and the pursuit of personal advantage, stressing that Jimoh’s life provides an example of the enduring virtues of loyalty, service, compassion and responsibility.
“What I particularly cherish about him is his ability to combine firmness with warmth. He is a man who can disagree without becoming disagreeable and correct without humiliating,” he said.
Penpushing reports that Isola acknowledged the personal impact of Jimoh’s friendship and counsel, saying there had been several occasions when conversations with him provided clarity in moments of confusion, reassurance during uncertainty and direction when difficult choices had to be made.
The former High Commissioner stated that over the years, he has benefited immensely from Jimoh’s friendship, counsel and brotherly affection, expressing gratitude for the celebrant’s support and companionship.
Penpushing further reports that he described 74 years as a significant journey marked by experiences, challenges, accomplishments and lessons, as well as a testimony to God’s grace and faithfulness.
The former Minister equally prayed for Jimoh, and asked Almighty Allah to grant him sound health, peace of mind, wisdom and renewed strength, as well as many more years of service to humanity.
Penpushing also reports that Isola prayed that the celebrant’s family would continue to be a source of happiness and that the positive seeds he had sown in the lives of others would continue to yield abundant fruits.
“Happy 74th birthday to an exceptional Egbon, a dependable confidant and a brother whose friendship I deeply value. Alhaji Nojeem Jimoh, may Allah grant you many more years in good health and enduring peace. Happy birthday, my dear Egbon!”, he said
