The Rotary Club, District 9110 has inaugurated Rotarian Muyiwa  Fajimi as the new Charter President to steer the affairs of club for the next administration, at  an event held on Sunday at Conference Hotels, Abeokuta.

Penpushing reports that, Fajimi while speaking said  his administration will  embark  on public and private sectors partnerships  on creation of Technology Hub to foster prosperity and quality of life within the people and immediate communities.

“As the new President of Rotary Club, Ibara GRA under District 9110, my administration will be visible in every aspect of human life positively, we are ready to partner with both private and public sectors in order achieve a greater communities development through modern equipments, including the creation of Tech Hub for the benefit of the people”, he said.

“Part of our projects is to work more on grassroots and embark on communities harmonisation, health care services, helping in climate change, environmental sanitation and proper cleaning, youth developmental programs, scholarships, partnership, empowerment and social integration”, Fajimi added.

Penpushing further reports that, the Charter President cautioned the youths not to become willing tools in the hands of politicians ahead of the 2023, elections, while also pledged to uplift the core values of the rotary club, including humanitarian and charity for the society.

The Guest Speaker, Aare Dele Momodu delivered a paper titled,’ “Enabling Social-Economic Development Through Corporate and Personal Social Responsibility” and cautioned Nigerians from vote buying in forthcoming 2023 general election

Penpushing also reports that, Momodu, a Presidential aspirant of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) expressed confidence in winning the party’s ticket to contest 2023 election, stressing that, Nigeria needs a leadership that can manage resources and people.

The Publisher noted that finance is no longer Nigeria’s challenge, rather, the political class who engage in wasteful spending and votes buying, and therefore called for an urgent cut in government’s spending with a view to focusing on developmental projects

“A lot of Nigerian politicians in government enjoy what they could not enjoy in their private capacity, thereby putting pressure on the nation’s finances. The moment you reduce how much you waste on politicians, you will see that there will be money for development. There will be money for projects”.
