The Oyo State Police Command has read a riot act against any planned proposed protest in commemoration of one year anniversary of protest against brutality which rocked the country last year, declaring that sanctions await anybody who embark on such protest
Penpushing reports that, the Command Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso gave the warning in a statement, stressing that the authorities would not tolerate any act that can jeopadise the peace of the state,adding that police has uncover plans by groups of people to embarked on violent protests in parts of the State in commemoration of one year anniversary of the unfortunate October protest saga.
The police spokesman stated that the command would not hesitate to use legitimate means within the ambit of the law to enforce sanity and prevent needless loss of lives and destruction of properties that could emanate from the proposed protests.
Penpushing further reports that, the statement said , the last year protest left painful trail of sorrow, anguish and pains in the minds of Nigerians, including security agencies,stressing that the commissioner of Police., Ngozi Onadeko has therefore directed extensive and aggressive patrols by Area commanders and Divisional Police Officers.
The statement added that, adequate deployment of operational, intelligence and tactical assets would be strategically positioned across every nook and cranny of the State to compliment and neutralize any threat or act(s) capable of truncating the relative calm enjoyed by the citizenry.
Penpushing also reports that the command however, emphasised and urged parents and guardians to warned their wards against being used as violators as they would be thoroughly sanctioned and prosecuted if caught.
