Police arrest 20 suspects for various offences in Ogun state

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested twenty suspects over alleged various offence, and were also caught with various dangerous weapons, allegedly being used for their illegal operations in the state and environs.

Penpushing reports that, the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole  paraded the suspects on Monday, as police headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, adding that the feat was in fulfillment of his promise when he resumed office barely two weeks ago,

‘On my assumption of office barely two weeks now, you will recall that I made a promise to the good people of Ogun State that under my watch as the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State will maintain his position as the safest in the Country;, he stated.

The commissioner disclosed that, to this end, he met with all Area Commanders and tactical Squad Commanders with a mandate that they all go out and make the State uncondusive for criminals and their sponsors.

Penpushing further reports that, the police boss said the approach which is tagged “Take the fight to the door steps of criminals” has started yielding positives results few of which the command was highlighting.

The Commissioner gave highlights of the arrest, adding those being paraded include: suspected armed robbers, murderers, hoodlums and kidnappers among others, adding that various exhibits were recovered from them which include: guns, ammunitions, cash, firearms and fetish objects

Penpushing also reports that, Bankole disclosed that the suspects were arrested at various locations, calling on members of the public to join hands with police to make the state most peaceful , adding on completion of investigation all suspects would be charge to court.
