A retiree, Isaac Ekeh, has allegedly bathed his wife, Stella, with hot water while she was sleeping in the night at their residence at Satellite Town, Alakija, in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government area of Lagos State.
Penpushing reports the victim while narrating the incident said on the said day, May 31,2022 the family ate dinner together and went to bed, when at about 3am, the husband perpetrated the act, which left the woman sustaining a high degree of injuries
“My children, husband and I ate our dinner together on the fateful day before we went to bed. Isaac woke up around 3:00 a.m., boiled water which he used to bathe me while I was sleeping in the bedroom’, she said.
“My scream alerted my children, who stormed my room as my body was already peeling. My children rushed me to the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, where I am receiving treatment. What baffled me was that we did not quarrel, no fight, no disagreement that would have warranted him to scald my skin,” she stated.
Penpushing further reports that, the mother of four said after the alleged crime, the husband has travelled to his village having caused her grievous harm, adding that he is currently in his village in Owerri, Imo State.
The Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, when contacted said he was yet to be aware of the incident, calling on the victim to go to any police station and make report, as the case was not in the record of the police as at the time of filing this report.
