Penpushing Media, owner of online newspaper and television on Wednesday organized a befitting sendforth for Precious Williams, a youth corp member of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for her dedication and integrity while serving with the organization.

Penpushing reports that the sendforth ceremony was held at the corporate headquarters of the media outlet located in Leme axis of Moshood Abiola Way, Abeokuta, attended by dignitaries within and outside the town.

The youth corp member who completed her one-year mandatory service was appreciated for her meaningful contributions to the organisation during her service year, and also went home with commendation letter and gifts.

Penpushing further reports that the founder of the organization, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji in his speech told the guests that Williams who read Political Science from Tai Solarin University (TASUED), Ijebu-Ode showed exemplary interest in journalism in the course of her service.

The founder pointed out she was within a short- time developed interest for writing and was subsequently encouraged, and was able to write number of newsworthy stories and earned her opportunity for her stories to be published

Penpushing also reports that Kayode-Adedeji explained that having discovered her talent, the management encouraged her, on completion of her service, should go ahead to study post graduate course in journalism at Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Lagos

The management in same vein issued a commendation letter to Williams following her dedication, commitment and integrity, emphasing that she has potential to grow positively in her chosen profession

‘This is to certify that Corp member WILLIAMS PRECIOUS OLUWABUSOLA with State Code OG/24B/6126 has fully completed her one year mandatory service with our organization Penpushing Media, owners of online newspaper and television’, the letter reads.

‘We write to attest to her good conduct and behaviour throughout her service year with us as a corp member posted to the organization by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)’, the letter added

‘She is cool headed, ready to learn, proactive, and committed to her work. It is also established that if she continues with her zeal to work, she will grow positively in her chosen profession as a reliable individual. In conclusion, we wish her best of luck in her future endeavours’, the management stated.

“Precious is a clear example of how determination can push anyone beyond their academic background. She came here with no prior journalism experience, but she caught up so fast and performed impressively,” Kayode-Adedeji said.

Penpushing reports that the founder equally used the opportunity to highlight Penpushing Media’s commitment to capacity-building, revealing that the organisation has trained over 80 students on internship from various tertiary institutions across the country.

‘We have trained over 80 students from different institutions across the country, and those who passed through us a now doing well. Infact, one of the institution, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta wrote us letter of appreciation, because they realized improvement in their students on return to school after their internship with us’

Penpushing further reports Willams in her farewell remarks, described her experience at Penpushing Media as both challenging and rewarding, recalling when she earlier resumed everything was strange to her, but with time she adapted and fell in love with journalism profession

“When I first got here, everything was strange, but with time, I learned and adapted. Working here opened my eyes to the world of journalism. It’s a beautiful profession’, Williams stated.

Penpushing further reports that she shared insights on how she worked hard to get to the position she is now and expressed gratitude, for the opportunity to serve at Penpushing Media,

“Anywhere I find myself, I always make sure I do what I’m told to do even if it is stressful and not convenient for me. At initial stage when I resumed everything was strange to me, but I thank God my boss trained and encourage me’, she said.

Penpushing also reports that in his own remarks, Mr Sina Adefolahan, Secretary Planning Committee Penpushing Annual Anniversary Lecture noted that Williams’ journey at Penpushing Media could serve as inspiration for her to pursue further studies in journalism or related fields.

“What she has passed through here can motivate her to go further in this career path. I have equally identified her quality all time I come to the office. She is respectful with humility and ready to learn’, Adesina said.

Penpushing reports that another invited guest, Mrs Funmi Erinle who also read mass communication said she was impressed with Williams’s sense of fitting into  the noble profession as attested to by the management,

The guest advised her to pursue the journalism profession saying it will open doors for her and make her meet people who she never thought she’ll meet, and such will add value to her in future

“I can boldly tell you that within the period I practiced, I enjoyed journalism. Journalism made me meet people I didn’t imagine I would meet in my life. Journalism is a noble profession’,Erinle said.

Penpushing further reports a retire Divisional Police Officer, Abayomi Kehinde in his own contributions disclosed that at every time he was at Penpushing Media office, he noted that Williams is a well reserved and cool-headed lady and very respectful

The police chieftain said Williams should regard herself lucky to have serve with Penpushing Media, which has become a household name in media world, and enjoined her to continue in the spirit she served at the organization, and expressed optimism that she would get to greater height in her career.
