A clergy with the Christian Reformed Church in Nations (CRCN),Pastor Shedrack Bako alongside four others have been feared dead in a boat mishap on Tuesday in Mareniyo, Ardo-Kola Local government area of Taraba State,
Penpushing reports that a source said the boat, with 14 persons onboard, left Mareniyo on Tuesday for a village in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of the state when it capsized in the middle of the water.
The source added that boat was conveying passengers and goods when it capsized, but could not ascertain the cause of the accident and explained that he assumed that water wave was hard on the boat, which resulted to the disasters.
Penpushing further reports that, Taraba State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Usman, when contacted confirmed the incident, adding that nine of the 14 passengers were rescued while five others were feared dead .
The police spokesman said as at the time of filing this report, the feared dead were yet to be found, explaining that local fishermen and a marine official were still searching for the missing people.
