The former Governor of Osun State, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has lost his polling unit in Saturday’s governorship election in the state, with the Accord Party (AP) emerging victorious.
Penpushing reports that it would be recalled that of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) recently shifted his support from Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking second term in office on platform of Accord Party (AP) to Bola Oyebamiji candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
The retired military general, voted at Polling Unit 003, Ward 01, Court Hall 1, Okuku, in the Odo-Otin Local Government Area in Saturday’s governorship election, and at the end of ballot counting at the polling unit, Accord Party(AP) candidate and incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, polled 125 votes, while All Progressives Congress(APC) scored 84 votes.
Penpushing further reports that it would be recalled that Oyinlola became governor of Osun State in May 2003 and was re-elected in 2007 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Court of Appeal on November 26, 2010, which then had the final say governorship election cases, sacked him from office, truncating his second term as governor to usher in former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, while that ruling set off the off-cycle elections in Osun State.
