Outgone commissioner of police gives farewell lecture to officers in ogun state

The immediate past Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command Yomi Oladimeji who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, on Monday gave a farewell lecture to officers of the command.

Penpushing reports that the lecture was held at the Police Officers Mess located within the Government Reservation Area (GRA), Abeokuta, and had in attendance the top management of the police command, which include the Divisional Police Officers (DPO)

The lecture which focused on general security in the state also touched on topics such as management and response to distress calls, roving patrol, visibility policing, cultism/kidnapping and raiding of black spots, well as vulnerable points

Penpushing reports that Oladimeji who has been posted to head, Zone 11 with headquarters in Osogbo as the Assistant Inspector General of Police while delivering his farewell lecture emphasized on the Inspector General of Police strategies in repositioning the police force.

The police boss emphasized the need for police to continue to exhibit professionalism, respect, courtesy and civility to members of the public at all time stressing the era of lack of decorum and rascality by policemen will be dealt with severe consequences.

Penpushing further reports that he noted further that the art of shoddy and shabby investigation will no longer be sustainable as he is determined to train and improve policemen on the required skills needed to aid their development in the art of investigation.

The Assistant Inspector General of Police reaffirmed his commitment to suppress criminality and stressed need for speedy response to distress call which he said is germane to the Inspector General of Police administration.

Penpushing also reports that in view to ending pockets of reported incidents of violent crimes, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Police Officer were signaled to intensify their effort to prune off insecurity of all kinds in their area of responsibility, by gathering intelligence from locals, at the same time with relevant synergy with other security agencies.

The Assistant Inspector General of Police expressed appreciation for the police for their devotion to service, and also advocated that similar unwavering support should be given to the Commissioner of Police taking over from him.
