The residents of Olusegun Osoba Hilltop Residents’ Association in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital have mourned Chief Olatunde Abudu, a renowned industrialist who passed on at age 96 on Monday, June 9, 2025.

Penpushing reports that the Olusegun Osoba Hilltop Residents’ Association, in a condolence letter signed by Chief (Dr.) J.B. Oke (Chairman) and Kehinde Onasanya (Secretary) forwarded to the deceased family said he (Abudu) was strong pillar with vision and uncommon generosity.

‘To us in the Estate, Chief Abudu was more than a resident, he was one of our strong pillars with vision and uncommon generosity. His presence in the Estate was a blessing and his departure has left a void that will be difficult to fill’, the letter reads.

‘Chief Abudu was a successful businessman whose entrepreneurial spirit and resilience earned him respect and admiration across many circles. Yet beyond his personal achievements, he remained grounded in the virtues of service and community’, it added.

Penpushing further reports that the association stated that his commitment to the advancement of communal life within the Olusegun Osoba Hilltop Estate stands as a shining example of what it means to live a purposeful life.

‘Right from supporting local development initiatives to inspiring collective vision, he distinguished himself as a leader and a partner in progress with his doors always open to ideas that benefited the community’.

Penpushing also reports that the statement pointed out that one of the most defining qualities of the deceased was his deep passion for humanity, adding that his philanthropy was not about fanfare, rather, it was genuine and transformative.

‘Whether it was supporting the less privileged, contributing to infrastructure development within the Estate or mentoring individuals in need of guidance, Chief Abudu’s acts of kindness were far-reaching’.

Penpushing reports that the residents said the late Abudu believed that a community could only thrive when its people did and he demonstrated this through consistent action and personal sacrifice.

‘Chief Abudu’s departure is a great loss and once again, on behalf of the entire residents of the Olusegun Osoba Hilltop Estate, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and allies’.

‘We pray that the Almighty God grants eternal rest to his gentle soul and provide comfort, strength and peace to those he has left behind. May Chief Olatunde Ayinla Abudu, MFR, rest in perfect peace. Amen’, the statement added.
