The Ogun State Commissioner of the Nigerian Girls Guild Association, Mrs Moyosore Adeyemi in her welcome speech expressed appreciation on the acceptance of the matronship by the Olori, and also identified number of her (Olori) contributions to the society.

Penpushing further reports that, Adeyemi pointed out the roles of the association in the society, and also frowned at girl-child molestation which include; rape, maiming and killings among other violent crimes.

‘We appreciate your acceptance as matron of this great association, and we also identified number of your contributions towards the welfare of the less privilege in the society, and we are very pleased.  We are also of the conviction that you are a genuine mother, who loves the girl-child’, she stated

Penpushing also reports that, the Deputy Chief Commissioner of the body, Mrs Rhoda Thomas in her remarks said the association was happy on coming on board of the Olori pointing out that, her involvement is a boost.

The Deputy Chief Commissioner who decorated the Olori and handed over the Child Protection Policy document to her, assured the matron that, the executive of the association will equally give maximum  support as she leads them in the course of making life meaningful for the girl-child.

Penpushing reports that, Mrs Oluwatoyin Adeyemo who is also a matron of the association while speaking expressed joy over the acceptance by the Olori, and used the ceremony to call on the body on need to acquire about two hectares of land which should be use as camp for training of members.

The Olori in her acceptance speech, pointed out that the association needs to move further in accommodating the interest and welfare of boy-child as well, and not limit the activities to only the care of the girl-child.

‘Our role is to protect all, let us also extend our activities to the boy-child, and not limits it to girl-child. They are all born from wombs and for the benefits of the nations, and world at large, so I will like to encourage the association to look beyond girl-child protection’, she emphasized.

Penpushing further reports that, Dosunmu, blamed some mothers over the wayward lifestyle of their children and wards, noting that it was worrisome that, rather than imparting morals on the children, some mothers encourage them in number of social vices

‘Some mothers encourage their children in engaging in crimes, some even compared their children with others, who make it through bad and dubious conducts. Only a bad mother will get involved in such, and we need to jointly address this menace for the good future of the children’, Olori stressed

‘The high rate of crimes among youths is worrisome. Mothers should be up and doing in ensuring good morals for their children. Don’t forget that idle hand is devil’s workshop, and as mothers we should be cautious of this’
