The traditional ruler of Ipokia town in Ipokia Local Government area of Ogun State, Oba Yisa Olusola Adeniyi have reportedly joined his ancestors in the early hours of Sunday, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston, Texas, United States of America (USA) having reigned for years on the throne
Penpushing reports that he ascended the throne as Onipokia of Ipokia Kingdom in August 2020 as the 46th monarch of the ancient town, was said to be looking ahead to mark his sixth coronation anniversary when death came calling.
The sources at the palace said the 55-year-old traditional ruler had been absent from public engagements and official palace activities for some time, a development which brought suspicious about his health.
Penpushing further reports that the sources added that the monarch gave up the ghost following complications from a throat surgery, however, as at the time of filing this report palace authorities was yet to issue an official statement.

Penpushing also reports that it would be recalled that Olaniyan before his ascension to the throne, was a United States of America (USA) -based entertainment executive, who founded Afro-Heritage Entertainment.
The late traditional ruler was the organiser of the Afro-Heritage Broadcasting and Entertainment Award, and September, 2025 celebrated his fifth coronation anniversary to commemorate his 55th birthday.
Penpushing reports that his reign, however, recorded some controversies in 2022, following a rival ruling house which petitioned Ogun State Government, seeking his suspension pending the determination of a legal dispute over the stool.
The late monarch received the staff of office from Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun on August 12, 2020, and was formally crowned on September 5, 2020, coinciding with his 50th birthday.
Penpushing further reports that Adeniyi before ascending the throne, the late monarch built a successful professional career in America, and studied Criminal Justice at the University of Houston-Downtown, equally worked across the aviation, oil and gas, and renewable energy sectors.
Meanwhile, the deceased last known public appearance was in April 2026, when he attended a reception in Houston in honour of Nollywood actress Biola Adebayo
