A pressure group known as Ogun State Tertiary Intellects on Tuesday declared support for second term bid of President Bola Tinubu and governorship aspiration of Ogun State Governorship Candidate of All Progress Congress (APC), Senator Solomon Adeola.
Penpushing reports that the group comprising of academic and non-teaching leaders across the state led by coordinator Prof Oyenuga Oyetunde and Secretary Dr Fatimaht Shoge made the declaration at a press conference held at Iwe-Iroyin Press Centre, Abeokuta
The coordinator explained that the objectives of the body are to mobilize robust political support for Tinubu and Adeola, across tertiary institutions, to foster meaningful intellectual discussions on the legacies and achievements of the duo as a viable ticket for 2027.
Penpushing further reports that Oyetunde added that it includes efforts to facilitate knowledge sharing regarding developmental projects that can be attracted to various institutions, stressing that having scrutinized the profiles, policy track records, capacity they are convinced about the competence of both candidates
‘We stand before you today not just as intellectuals and professionals, but as leaders, opinion moulders, and concerned citizens from all tertiary institutions in Ogun state’, Oyetunde explained.
‘As critical thinkers, our primary duty in society-outside the four walls of our institutions-is to evaluate government policies objectively, interrogate leadership track records, demand accountability from those saddled with positions of authority and chart a clear progressive path for the future’, he stated

Penpushing also reports that the chairman and secretary accompanied by other members of the group highlighting some achievements of Tinubu and Adeola stated that the body has a systematic campus to campus mobilization model designed to secure a bloc youth vote for the two candidates based on clear conviction rather than financial inducement
