The Ogun State House of Assembly has recalled one of the two members it recently suspended, Hon. Solomon Osho, representing Remo North State Constituency from an indefinite suspension, following deliberation on his appeal and subsequent acceptance of his appeal letter which was acknowledged at the previous plenary.

Penpushing reports that, the embattled lawmaker got a relief following presentation of the report of the assembly by the Deputy Speaker, Akeem Balogun in respect of H.R No 131/OG/2022 at a plenary session held at the assembly.

The plenary was presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, and subsequently, the Majority leader, Hon Yusuf Sheriff moved the motion for the adoption of the report, which was supported by other lawmakers through a voice vote.

“Members at the meeting discussed the letter of appeal extensively based on the passionate plea and remorse showed by Hon. Osho as well as tendering apology for whatever he might have done to warrant the suspension, as it was never intentional and without prejudice to the Rights and Privileges of the Hallowed House’, the report reads.

‘Members observed that going by the previous conducts of the suspended Hon. Member, which has always been with decorum and respect for constituted authority and having promised to also continue to keep same sacred till the end of his tenure as a worthy representative of his people, members agreed that his appeal be graciously considered’.

The Committee, therefore resolved that the suspension be revoked and that  Osho Solomon Oluwaseyi be reinstated with effect from, Tuesday 4th October, 2022, while it is recalled that the assembly on 13th September, 2022 suspended the former Deputy Speaker,Hon  Dare Kadiri alongside Osho in line with the provisions of sections 14 and 15 of the Legislative Houses (Powers and Privileges) Act, 2017.
