An aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the Ogun State House of Assembly election, Oluwafemi Akinlawon has suspended his planned birthday celebration to organise prayer for Nigeria amidst rising insecurity across the country.

Penpushing reports that Akinlawon in a statement expressed worry over the current insecurity situation in Nigeria, pointing out that the situation calls for solemn affection rather than celebration scheduled to hold Monday December, 2025

The young politician who has shown interest to represent Isokan State Constituency under the ruling party explained that no reasonable person will choose to celebrate when his nation is mourning.

Penpushing further reports that he stated that though, President Bila Ahmed Tinubu is not resting on his oars to ensure that lasting peace is restored in the country, adding that Nigerians must also do the needful to surmount this trying time.

“We can see that the country is not smiling. The chilling security situation is burning every part of the country and we cannot deny it. For this reason, I have decided to cancel my birthday celebration scheduled for Monday, 1, 2025’, he stated.

‘No leader will choose celebration when his followers are mourning and no reasonable Nigerian can deny that this situation does not call for prayer. We can only call upon God to save us, that is my belief and that is why I have decided to shun birthday celebration for prayer for Nigeria.  I believe that this is the best way to give back to Nigeria this time’,Akinlawon said

Penpushing also reports that, he however, disclosed plan to gather friends and religious leaders to the prayer session which he said will be held on Monday December 1, 2025

“Religious leaders, alongside family and friends will be gathering for the prayer session. This is the time to intercede for our nation. This is the time to raise our lamenting to him for the deliverance of Nigeria’, he added.
