The Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday met two former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan at the inauguration of Ghanaian President John Mahama and the trio took time to exchange pleasantries.

Penpushing reports that the Presidency apparently excited with the development shared photos of Tinubu shaking hands with the two former presidents as well as some other guests at the event.

The Ghana’s new president at the inauguration ceremony makes appointments hours after, and named Augustus Tannoh, (68) as the Presidential Adviser on the 24-hour economy and the rapid growth of exports.

Penpushing further reports that Mahama in the same vein appointed six other officials alongside Tannoh, who is former presidential candidate, while it is recalled that the President during his campaign, pledged to introduce deliberate policy interventions to encourage and support businesses and companies to operate 24/7, preferably in a three-shift system of eight hours each.

The statement issued on Monday by Felix Kwakye, said other key appointments include Julius Debrah as chief of staff, a role he also held during Mahama’s first tenure, while Valerie Sawyerr was named Senior Presidential Adviser on Governmental Affairs, and Prosper Bani to serve as Director of the Temporary Security Taskforce.

Penpushing also reports that the statement added that Callistus Mahama has been appointed Executive Secretary to the President, and Marietta Brew will act as Legal Counsel, as well as Felix Ofosu as the acting spokesperson.

The President, it is recalled during his campaign, pledged to introduce deliberate policy interventions to encourage and support businesses and companies to operate 24/7, preferably in a three-shift system of eight hours each.

Penpushing reports that Mahama emphasised the creation of an enabling environment to boost productivity, competitiveness, and well-paying jobs and also campaigned on fixing the economy and restoring economic stability in Ghana.

The newly sworn-in president previously served as president from 2012 to 2016, and after losing his re-election bid in 2016, he made an unsuccessful attempt to return to office in 2020, however, emerged victorious in the December 7, 2024 presidential election by defeating the incumbent Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia.
