A nurse has been arrested over alleged injection of a 36-year-old woman for buttock enlargement surgery at a clinic located in Lekki Phase of Lagos State which led to the death of the patient, a resident of Diamond Estate, Sangotedo-Lekki.
Penpushing reports that Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin who confirmed the arrest of the nurse said this followed a report by the deceased driver to Maroko Police Division.
The police spokesperson said that the driver reported that at about 3:00 a.m. on Monday, his boss, asked him to convey her to a clinic at Lekki Phase 1 for a BBL injection for buttock enlargement, adding that, on arrival, the owner of the clinic (name withheld) instructed a nurse to inject the woman who later became unconscious
Penpushing further reports that Hundeyin said the woman identified, Mrs Abiola, thereafter started gasping for breath, before being rushed to another hospital in Lekki Phase 1 for treatment, where she was confirmed dead by the Doctor on duty
The Command Public Relations Officer added that based on the report, operatives visited the scene, as well as the hospital where the corpse was inspected and photographed and thereafter evacuated to a morgue, adding that investigation has commenced
“The victim was rescued and rushed to another hospital in Lekki Phase 1 for treatment, where she was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty. Based on the report, the scene was visited by a team of detectives. The hospital was also visited, where the corpse was inspected and photographed before it was evacuated to a public morgue for autopsy,” he said.
