Notable Nigerians on Thursday May 13, 2021 stormed Ijomu-Oro in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State to honour Oloye Raheem Adedoyin, Secretary International Press Institute (IPI) who hosted the Fidau prayer to mark the eighth day of the demise of his mother, Madam (Princess) Awawu Ajibike Adedoyin .

Penpushing reports that, the late Madam Adedoyin transited on Friday, May 7, 2021 and was buried at Ijomu-Oro on the same day in accordance with Islamic practices, the eight day prayer was talk of the Igbomina town, as the ceremony was witnessed a huge gathering of prominent leaders and monarchs among others.

The host who is the eldest son of the deceased was a former Commissioner for Information in Kwara State and Oloriewe of Oro Kingdom and his speech expressed profound appreciation to all present for attending the eight days Fidau prayer of his late mother.

Penpushing further reports that the Oloriewe of Oro Kingdom  described the death of his mother,  as a great loss not only to the family but to the entire Oro Kingdom, noting that the late matriarch was a fantastic mother who imbibed in all her children hard work, discipline, love and fear of Allah during her life time.

The eldest son of the late Alhaja said the children would continue to carry on with the selfless service to humanity and to God among other good legacies their mother left behind

Penpushing reports that some dignitaries at the event include: Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Mr. Kayode Alabi; Deputy Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Raphael Adetiba,  Former Member , Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Moshood Mustapha, Chairman, LUBCON, Alhaji Jani Ibrahim and All Progressive Congress (APC) stalwart, Senator Suleiman Makanjuola Ajadi.

The  traditional ruler of Oro,  the Oloro of Oro Kingdom, Oba AbdulRafiu Ajiboye Oyelaran1 led other monarchs and traditional chiefs to the well attended occasion held the market square of Ijomu-Oro i

The list also include: Mallam Saliu Mustapha, Hon. Saliu Mustapha; Chief Wole Oke; Hon Yinka Aluko, SA to Kwara State Governor on Special Duties; Alhaji Tajudeen Adigun; member of Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Felix Omotayo Awodiji; representatives of Kwara APC, Lagos State branch and members of  Omo Ibile Igbomina led by its National President, Engr. Timothy Adebayo.

Penpushing further reports that others are Barrister. (Mrs) Dupe Adejumo; Chief Sunday Ibitoye, Hon. Kayode Towoju, Hon. Bode Towoju, the Chairman of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria( ALGON), Kwara State Chapter and Chairman of the Transition Implementation Committee( TIC) Ifelodun local government, Hon. Jide ashonibare,  TIC Chairmen of Isin local government , Engr Tunde Fadipe and his counterparts from Oke-Ero, Ifelodun and Irepodun LGs Victor Yusuf and Jide Oyinloye; and Akinrogun Segun Olawoyin.

The other dignitaries at the occasion included – the Oloro of Oro Kingdom HRM, Oba Abdulraufu Ajiboye Oyelaran1; the Chief Imam of Ijomu Oro, Imam Ibrahim Bashir Adewara; Member of the State House of Assembly, Hon Tayo Awodiji; Kwara APC PRO, Folaranmi Aro; Kwara South APC Senatorial Chairman , Hon. Olayemi Olabanji; Mr. Opeyemi Olabanji, Alh. Tunde Bakare, Mrs Dorcas Opeyemi, ; Barr. Kayode Towoju, Bode Towoju, Mrs Habibat Obafaiye; Engr Muri Sayi; Engr Timothy Niyi Adebayo; and members of Oloriewe Think Tank Forum.

Penpushing also reports that in attendance as well  were popular Yoruba Actor, Lasun Ray,  Titus Ashaolu, SAN, Chief Wole Oke, Hon. Layi Ayinde, Hon. Hassan Bagudu, Prince Shuaib Olanrewaju, new-reappointed commissioners Alhaji. Femi Whyte, Mrs Deborah Aremu and Mrs Remilekun Banigbe; former Commissioner  Ben Duntoye Alh. Tajudeen Adeyemi, Mr. Sunday Abikoye, Chief Sunday Ibitoye; Mrs Gbemi Ebikuadje,  High Chief Jide Adebayo, Alh.  John Adegboye and Ahmed Akorede.

The People Democratic Party(PDP) chieftains present included – former Minister, Bolaji Abdullahi represented; former Deputy Chief of Staff, Chief CT Ayeni; former Special Advisers to Governor,  Comrade Bisi Fakayode  and Anu Ibiwoye; firmer members, Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Ayanspla Mohammed and Hon. David Bamidele; , Mrs Lawal, former PDP State Secretary, High Chief Olabode Adejanye; PDP Youth Leaders Hon. Shamsudeen Bada and Hon. Kazeem Adekanye.

Penpushing reports that, delegation of Oloriewe’s classmates in University of Lagos led by Mr. Fred Ohwahwa and Oloriewe’s Premier Club, Aura Club 86 led by Alhaji Tajudeen Adigun as well as  Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) members from Irepodun, Isin and Ifelodun Local Government Areas; Chairman, Harmony Intercontinental Hotels, Chief Gbenle Adeyemi and former Chairman, Governing Council, Kwara State School of Health Technology, Offa were also among the distinguished personalities at the occasion.

The close associates of the chief host who were on hand to ensure a successful event included the General Manager, Kwara State Printing and Publishing Corporation (Publishers of The Herald Newspapers), Yomi Adeboye; Professor Babatunde Opabola; Dr. Bashir Olaitan Ibrahim of the Department of History and International Studies, University of Ilorin; Hon. Bode Towoju; Hon. Kazeem Adekanye , Alh. Nurani Opetokun and Mr. Tunde Bakare.

Penpushing further reports that, a chieftain of All Progressives Congress( APC)  in Kwara State, Hon Moshood Mustapha in his remarks said the deceased was a good mother not only her children, but to the entire children that came across her.

“Late Mama never discriminated, she took us as her sons and she always gave us motherly advise that is presently assisting us in all our human endeavour’, Mustapha said as he admonished the children to continue to be upright and not to lose faith in Allah.

Penpushing reports that, another stalwart of All Progressives Congress(APC), Hon Saliu Mustapha in his remarks thanked Allah for a life well spent by late Awawu Adedoyin, describing her death as a great loss to the family.
