The management of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijebu-Ode in Ogun State is to confer a Doctor of Science, D.Sc. Ed (Honoris Causa) on a renowned Nigerian entrepreneur Otunba Wasiu Jaiyeola as approved by the Governing Council and Senate of the institution.
Penpushing reports that this was contained in a letter sent to Jaiyeola signed by the Vice Chancellor of the university Prof Oluwole Banjo with reference number TASUED/REG.112/VOL.1/006 dated September 30, 2024
The notification from the Premier and Preferred University of Education explained that Jaiyeola who is the Managing Director, Wessey Creations and Continental Hotels, Abeokuta, stated that the award is in recognition of his passion for education and numerous contributions to the advancement of the human race in general.
‘We are delighted to bring to your attention that the Governing Council and Senate of the University has unanimously approved the conferment of a Doctor of Science, D.Sc. Ed (Honoris Causa) in Clothing and Textile of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun (The Premier and Preferred University of Education in Nigeria) to you’, the letter read.
Penpushing further reports that the letter from the office of the Vice Chancellor added that the ceremony is scheduled to hold at 10.00 am on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the University Auditorium, ljagun in Ijebu-Ode.
‘This award is in recognition of your passion for education and numerous contributions to the advancement of the human race in general. The University takes special cognisance of your numerous professional achievements and community services including your exemplary leadership roles in our nation as an elder stateman whose modest achievements and accomplishments represents the ideas of integrity and selflessness which our university stands for’, the letter added.
‘The University joins well-meaning Nigerians in celebrating your enviable, worthy, and outstanding legacies in the service of humanity. We also congratulate you and your family on your many noble achievements in life. May the Almighty God grant you good health for your continued services to mankind’, Banjo wrote.
‘In the meantime, the university would be pleased to have your acceptance of the offer, your citation, and a soft copy of your preferred photograph in preparation for the Award Ceremony. Thank you’, the letter emphasised.
