The Nigerian Red Cross Society, Ogun State Chapter has called on governments at all levels and well-meaning citizens on need to increase their moral and financial supports for the not-for-profit organisation.
Penpushing reports that the Branch Chairman, Dr. Ibrahim Jide Bello, made the plea on Thursday at the 2024 Annual General Meeting of the Society held in Abeokuta and equally commended members for their unity of purpose and robust support.
“This past one year has been a testament to the selflessness, commitment and unwavering dedication of every individual in this assembly. We have navigated obstacles, and achieved milestones that would not have been possible without your sacrifices, donations and contributions”, he said.
Penpushing further reports that Bello during simulation of rescue efforts, where citizens were taught various skills on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), wound management and handling fractures, enjoined members to set bigger goals, embrace innovations and engage youths more in the new year 2025.

Penpushing further reports that National President of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Prince Oluyemisi Adetayo Adeaga, represented by Comrade Yinka Fasina, declaring the annual general meeting open urged members to redouble their efforts to make all twenty divisions of Ogun State more vibrant whilst improving fund raising activities.
The former National Legal Adviser of the Society, Mr. Bola Bayo-Solarin, in his remarks commended the executives of the branch for the feat of holding the first non-elective annual general meeting in the last 13 years.
Penpushing also reports that he encouraged members to intensify their revenue generation efforts adding that red cross is both a beggar and oliver twist because of its numerous humanitarian services in the society, and charged members to improve their networking capabilities by being more resourceful and deeper in strategies.
