The Nigerian Government has repatriated the wanted leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu to continue treasonable felony charges at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Penpushing reports that Nigeria’s Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami made this known at a joint press briefing on Tuesday with the State Security Service (SSS) in Abuja
The Minister said Kanu was re-arrested and brought back to Nigeria with international collaborative efforts with security agencies, adding that he (Kanu) and his co-defendant are facing treasonable felony charges.
Penpushing further reports that, it is recalled that Kanu fled the country in September 2017 after an invasion of his home by the military in Afara-Ukwu, near Umuahia, Abia State, while the Nigerian government had on September 20,2017 obtained a court order to designate Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a terrorist group and to proscribe it.
