The Yoruba freedom fighter, Sunday Adeyemo popularly called Sunday Igboho has profusely begged Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi over a statement credited to him of insulting the traditional ruler during an online meeting with a Yoruba group

Penpushing reports that, Igboho admitted error in his utterances during the meeting, blaming his tongue of acting too fast to have allegedly erred, stressing that, what he meant was to further encouraged traditional rulers in the South-West in supporting the course.

‘ My tongue was too fast, am so sorry if my utterances was offensive, please Kabiyesi forgive me if my utterances was interpreted to be an insult, what I meant was to gear up our royal  fathers in the fight against the Fulani herdsmen killers’, he explained.

Penpushing further reports that , who appeared sober over her alleged comments against the monarch posited that, it was abnormal for any responsible Yoruba indigene to insult a royal father, explaining that what led to his reactions was the speculations that Ooni was with President Muhammed Buhari to source money for him.

‘What led to the statement credited to me was because there was insinuations that, our royal father was in Abuja, to secure money for me, and I felt pained on this, and I can say it loud and clear that, no traditional ruler has secured money for me to stop the fight’.

Penpushing also reports that, the freedom fighter said, his reaction was better described as being controlled by flesh, and that he didn’t meant any harm, adding that after the incident, he had put call across to Ooni and Olugbon, and the issues resolved

‘Please let us join hands together, I have spoken with my fathers,  Ooni and Olugbon. My statement was to ginger our traditional rulers, please am so sorry, its abnormal to insult our royal fathers. My mission is to bring out Yoruba from slavery’.

‘Don’t let us discourage ourselves, let us leave good legacy for our children, and we should be a good reference point.  Am a Yoruba to the core, and it is absurd to insult traditional rulers in Yorubaland. My royal father I passionately begged you, what led to that, there were insinuations that Ooni was in Abuja to secure money for me.

‘Don’t let us plant fruits of discord. I am in the struggle to ensure that Yoruba is not put in shame. Let us rise up together to get ourselves out of the Fulani slavery, enough of kidnapping, maiming and killings of our kinsmen’, he emphasized
