The Minister of Finance Wale Edun has distributed rice to residents of Ogun State which also extended to traditional rulers, religious bodies, as well as political leaders said to be his own contributions in commemoration of Easter celebration and forthcoming Ramadan festival, as well 72nd birthday of President Bola Tinubu.
Penpushing reports that sources said the gestures were in line with his policy of giving back to the society and provide succour for citizens in view of the economic hardship currently being experienced in the country.
The first phase of the distribution was centred at the 74 wards in the six local government areas of Ogun central of the state, while as at the time of filing this report arrangement was said to be ongoing to extend to all the local government areas of the state.
Penpushing reports that number of beneficiaries as at the time of filing this report include royal fathers, political leaders, religious leaders as well as some churches and mosques, all said to have received the donations.
The beneficiaries’ sources said, as at the time of filing this report have acknowledged receipt of the rice, and equally sent appreciation messages to the Minister, stressing that they are grateful and prayed that God/Allah will shower abundant blessing on him and his family
‘Good afternoon, sir and compliment of the sir. I write to acknowledge and appreciate the Ramadan gift(10 bags of rice) sent to us and the Imam. We are very grateful and pray for more blessing. May Almighty Allah bless you abundantly to you and your entire family sir’, an Islamic leader wrote
‘My Honourable Minister. Many thanks for the Easter gifts. We deeply appreciate it. May God bless you and grant you all your heart desires in Jesus’ name. I wish to express our profound gratitude to the Honourable Minister of Finance, Prince Wale Edun for the ten bags of 25kg rice given to our church. God will continue to uplift you. Thanks very kindly sir’, a Christian leader wrote
