Olanrewaju Oladapo Edun was born into the family of Edun in Abeokuta South. He attended Mrs F. Kuti Primary school in Abeokuta and for his secondary school education he attended Comprehensive High School Ayetoro. He later proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University where he studied Engineering and graduated as an Engineer. He has worked as an Engineer in several Engineering companies and a successful business man.
His love and passion to give back to the society most importantly made him join politics in the year 2003 and later joined ANPP and ACN to achieve his aspirations. He was an aspirant for House of Representatives in the year 2007, 2011 and 2015 respectively.
He was persuaded by the Paramount Ruler of Egbaland in 2007 to withdraw his election petition tribunal against the Former speaker RT. Hon Dimeji Bankole which for his love and passion for the progress of Egbaland voluntarily withdrew the case without any conditionalities.
He became an elected Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government Area in the year 2012 to 2015 after which he was appointed as Special Adviser on Environment to Ogun State Government in 2015 through early 2019. He was once a member of Federal Housing Authority Abuja.
He later became the candidate of All progressives Congress (APC) in 2019 to represent Abeokuta South at the House of Representatives which he won and the office he occupied till date. As a member of House of Representatives he has facilitated a lot of life changing projects for his constituents that ranges from massive educational books, modern table and chairs, computer systems, generating set, building of blocks of classrooms in different schools, road constructions, borehole projects, massive solar lights, brand new transformers to various communities, skill acquisition and cash empowerments, massive empowerment projects, job opportunities for youths to mention but few. Hon. Edun has been feeding thousands of aged man and women in his constituency and still doing till date
