A transporter, Oluwaniyi Olajire has approached a Customary Court Mapo in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital for dissolution of his marriage with Omolabake who she accused of wearing skimpy dresses and engaged in promiscuous habit.
Penpushing reports that, the husband, resident of Onikoro-Akobo area in Ibadan in his petition, tendered to court a picture of his wife, arriving in a hotel in Ibadan as an exhibit, adding that he had provided all necessary things to make her happy, but still engaged in waywardness
”I have been a good husband. I have provided my wife with all the necessary things to make her life comfortable. My lord, as soon as Omolabake settled in my home in 2010, she started wearing skimpy dresses, trainers, and generally wearing masculine outfits’, he stated.
Penpushing further reports that, Olajire told the court that, his wife got him arrested by the police at Akobo station for challenging her over the lover she took to the shop, adding that to worsen the matter she started bringing men into her matrimonial home
“Worst still, Omolabake started bringing men into my matrimonial home and I warned her against it. She fights me and has an ill temper. I saw my children last on December 17, 2021. I don’t know where she has taken them to. Please grant me custody of my children’, Olajire said.
Penpushing also reports that, in response, the wife, who is a food vendor did not deny the allegations and consented to the suit, while she equally alleged her husband of not responsible at the home, nor provide money for her for her business
”Olajire did not give me money to establish my business and I did so through my personal savings. On my return from where I went to buy bread one day, he slapped me for no reason. My lord, I cook and sell Noodles to young boys in my shop, Olajire has accused me of sleeping around’, she said.
Penpushing reports that, the wife told the court that, as a result of her husband frequent nagging about her male customers, she told him to stop coming to her shop, to avoid further crisis between two of them.
The President of the Court, S.M. Akintayo, in his ruling ordered the wife to produce the three children, counselled the couple to maintain peace and order, and thereafter adjourned the suit until March 3, for judgment
