The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission, (OGSIEC) has announced that the screening of chairmanship and councillorship candidates in the forthcoming local government elections in the state is scheduled to commence on Monday.
Penpushing reports that the Chairman, Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission, (OGSIEC), Mr. Babatunde Osibodu made this known in a statement on Friday and called on all the political parties participating at the poll to present their candidates.
The statement added that the screening exercise will hold between Monday, September 30 and Friday, October 10, 2024, at commission’s headquarters, beside the Bureau of Lands and Survey, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta
‘All political parties participating in the forthcoming Local Government Elections in the state are to present candidates for the Councillorship and Chairmanship positions for screening between Monday, September 30 and Friday, October 10, 2024, at Commission’s headquarters, beside the Bureau of Lands and Survey, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, at 10:00 am each day’, the statement reads.
The electoral commission added that all candidates should contact their party secretariats to confirm their scheduled appearance at the commission, stressing that candidates must bring their original credentials, as well as other statutory documents for screening and verification.
