The bereaved husband of Omobolanle Raheem, a female Nigerian lawyer shot dead by  an Assistant Superintendent of Police, Drambi Vandi, on Christmas Day in Lagos, Gbenga Raheem, said the alleged killer policeman, also attempted to shot his(Raheem) sister-in=law at the scene of the incident.

Penpushing reports that, the husband while narrating graphic details of how his wife was murdered, said the family comprising himself, wife, children, cousins and nephews were inside the car when the policeman shot the lawyer to death.

The widower recalling the sad incident said, the family left church after the Christmas service to catch fun, and they went to Adibas supermarket, near Thomas estate to buy ice cream and Pizza, and later went to Dominio plaza, adding that after this they were heading home.

‘On the 25th of December 2022 I woke up with my wife and the children  and cousins  and nephew that came to do holiday with us ,so we went to church because my church in Ikoyi was  having general programme ,so we decided to go to  a nearby church’ .

‘So we went to the church, we finished from church , them my wife said we should go for Christmas thrill , let’s take every one out ,so we went to  Adibas supermarket near  Abraham Adesanya we got  ice cream there  from there we went to Dommino pizza, near Thomas estate, where we had our pizza and ice cream’.

Penpushing further reports that, Raheem said on completion of the purchase, the family headed towards Ajah to return home, adding that, as they were trying to make U-Turn towards Abraham Adesanya road, policemen stopped them

‘From there  we headed towards Ajah to do a U-turn  to come back to Abraham Adesanya , and when we did the U-turn , we saw policemen  stopping cars , as we approached them they said  we should stop, in the process of that , we just heard a loud sound ‘.

‘And on my wife side window, all of a sudden I saw her chest open and blood was gushing out. Immediately I ran out, and as I ran out my sister in-law who was also with us had ran out and held to the police man, and corked his gun.

‘As I ran out she was ahead of me, he(policeman) corked his gun on her , and talking to him was pointless and I ran again to the car to see if anything could be salvage on my wife. I saw her gasping for breath , then by that time my sister in -law had brought the policeman to the car and pushed him to the front seat’.

‘So we headed to  Udo hospital, on getting there they brought her out , they said they couldn’t handle her, they said we should go to Doren , we went to Doren  and they tried to bandages and  cotton wool on her chest , they said what happened, I said police shot her , and I said they actually came with us, and now they were trying to put oxygen on her , because she couldn’t breath, then they tried to put needle and syringe in her hand’.

‘They now said because it is bullet wound, that they can’t handle that, that I should take her to Grandville Hospital at VCG, then I took her there, and on getting there , they declared that , she was no more and then the police people  carried her body  and put in their truck , and they wanted me to follow them, but then I said , I need to settle my children, I asked them where are my children , they really don’t known, because the last is when I dropped them at Agodo’.

‘So I went back to organized them to go back to the house, one of my neighbor saw me on the road, and he helped  them get to the house, then I got back to the police station. My friends and neigbours came around, and wanted to pray for the body, and we realized that, they had taken her to the Mainland, and we had to go to the Mainland’, Raheem narrated
