Former Nigerian Ambassador to United Kingdom, Sarafa Tunji Isola has described the late Chief Imam of Owo, Sheikh (Dr.) Ahmad Olagoke Aladesawe, as a bridge of unity among Muslims.

Penpushing reports that Aladesawe, who passed away at the age of 91, was until his death the Chairman of the League of Imams and Alfas in Ondo State and the Secretary-General of the League across Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States.

The former envoy who doubles as Baba Adinni of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States, in the condolence message, said the late scholar lived a life dedicated to Islam, knowledge, and service to humanity.

“Sheikh Aladesawe was not just a Chief Imam; he was a guardian of the Qur’an, a custodian of prophetic traditions, and a bridge of unity among Muslims’, Isola emphasised.

Penpushing further reports that he noted that the deceased embodied the qualities of humility, wisdom, justice, and service, which defined true Islamic leadership, adding that his departure was a reminder of the fleeting nature of life

“His departure is a reminder of the fleeting nature of life, but also a testament to the immortality of deeds done in sincerity to Allah and humanity. He lived as a lamp of knowledge, a voice of peace, and a counsellor of truth, leaving behind footprints that generations yet unborn will continue to follow,” Isola added

Penpushing also reports that the diplomat state that the late Imam was one who exemplified the Qur’anic injunction that the noblest of people are those most righteous before Allah.

“I extend heartfelt condolences to his family, the Muslim Ummah of Owo, Ondo State, and all of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States. May Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his noble deeds, and grant him Al-Jannah Al-Firdaus. Sheikh Aladesawe’s passing marks the return of a light to its Source, but his radiance shall remain with us forever’, he wrote.
