Lagos state police command gets new public relations officer

The Lagos State Police Command has announced Abimbola Adebisi, a superintendent of police, as the new Public Relations Officer for the Command, and takes over from Benjamin Hundeyin, who was recently named the Force Public Relations Officer.

Penpushing reports that the appointment was announced in a statement by the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Babaseyi Oluseyi, on behalf of the Lagos Commissioner of Police.

The new spokesperson holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Tai Solarin University of Education and a Postgraduate Diploma in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution.

Penpushing further reports that she equally holds a Master’s degree in English Language from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), and has completed professional training, including a Certificate in Child Protection from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, Accra, Ghana, as well as certifications in Human Rights, Human Psychology, and Conflict Management.

The Public Relations Officer also attended the Advanced Detective Course at the Police Staff College, Jos, while her postings include serving as Staff Officer to the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Operations, and as Personal Assistant to the Commissioner of Police, Special Protection Unit.

Penpushing also reports before this appointment, she was the Police Public Relations Liaison Officer at the SPU, Force Headquarters, Abuja and is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.

The Command Public spokesperson is a member of international bodies such as the International Public Relations Association, the International Association of Women Police, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
