Eleven out of the unspecified number of students kidnapped by gunmen at Salihu Tanko Islamic School, Niger State have been released by their abductors, while whereabouts of many other still unknown as athe time of filing this report
Penpushing reports that the Niger State government confirmed release of the eleven pupils, explaining that the abductors set them free because they were too young and could not walk
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mary Noel-Berje,in a statement the Governor expressed outrage at the incessant banditry in the state while reiterating his emergency call on the federal government for prompt intervention.
Penpushing further reports that, the armed men reportedly seized the police station in the town before breaking into the private school which consists of nursery and primary where they abducted children attending Islamic lectures.
The Proprietor of the school, Yakubu Idris, while speaking on the scaring development said the gunmen went away with many students, including his own younger sister, adding that as at the time of filing this report number of pupils abducted could not be ascertain.
