A famous media outlet, Kasnaty Media Production has concluded arrangements in organizing a memorial programme to mark the 20 years of demise of broadcast journalist icon, Toba Opaleye

Penpushing reports that the Chief Executive Officer of the organization, Kolawole Adejojo disclosed this during exclusive interview at the corporate headquarters of Penpushing Media located in Leme axis of Moshood Abiola way, Abeokuta.

The media owner disclosed that the programme is designed with the consent of family of the late broadcaster, explaining that it is scheduled to hold on May 1, 2026 at Continental Suites, Presidential Boulevard, Abeokuta.

Penpushing further reports that he stated that the event will bring together the deceased fans, to discuss his life time, impact in broadcasting and society at large, adding that a prayer session will be led by Sheik Ya-Satar, popularly called Oniwasu Agbaye

The initiator of the ceremony explained that his decision to celebrate the deceased after 20 years is to ensure his legacy leaves on, recalling that he first met him in 1999, and supported in promoting his electronic business.

Penpushing also reports that he said he was an addicted fan of Opaleye and religiously listened to his radio programme and fell in love with his dexterity on air, adding that he was introduced to the deceased by Razaq Oyadiran, a film actor.

‘My relationship with Toba Opaleye started in 1999, when I was still selling electronic equipment and I do listen to his programme on radio, which I fell in love with. I later met Razaq Oyadiran, who was a film actor, took me to Toba, to promote my electronic business’, he recalled

‘Thereafter, we became close, later my electronic business collapsed following fraudsters intrusion, so I moved into video club and Toba Opaleye rose in support in promoting the business through his radio programme’,Adejojo added

‘I do visit him while on radio programme, I later ventured into film production in 2003, and Toba was supportive, the film was sponsored by Jimilax. I later started broadcasting training under Yemi Sonde, a mentee of Toba Opaleye, who later equipped with nitty gritty of broadcasting’, he stated

Penpushing reports that Adejojo said the day he heard of Opaleye’s death in April 30, 2006 he was shocked to bone marrow, adding that he would continue to appreciate the late broadcaster for adding values to his developmental growth

The Chief Executive Officer of Kasnaty production the ceremony will equally features number of guest artiste and musicians to entertain the guests, adding that the invitation to attend the event is open to members of the public
