The inauguration of the Ogun State Chapter of the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters (SNB) has been scheduled to hold on Wednesday 4th October, 2023 in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital with the theme, ‘Broadcasting, Social Media and Information Integrity’.
Penpushing reports that the Chairman of the Chapter, Basorun Festus Kehinde made this known in a statement, adding that it will take place at the Pensioners’ Hall near the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) Secretariat, off Abiola-way, Ijeun -Lukosi, Abeokuta.
The statement added that the national headquarters of the society will conduct the inauguration, and that Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Peter Fagboun is to be the Chairman of the occasion which has the Olowu of Owu, Oba Prof Saka Matemilola as the Royal Father of the day.
Penpushing further reports that Kehinde explained that the Inauguration lecture will be delivered by a Veteran Broadcaster and a leading light in the formation of Society of Nigerian Broadcasters, Ambassador Dr. Yemi Farounbi.
The statement said while Executive Secretary Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON), Dr Yemisi Bamgbose will coordinate the event, adding that the ceremonywill also feature the Induction of new members and the Investiture of Engineer Yemisi Shyllon as a Patron of the Ogun State Chapter.
Penpushing also reports that Society of Nigerian Broadcasters (SNB) is the only professional body set up to uphold and enforce global best practices among broadcast practitioners, while the occasion is expected to attract accomplished veterans and practitioners in the broadcast industry and eminent dignitaries in the society.
