The Governorship aspirant of African Democratic Congress (ADC) Ogun State ahead of 2027 general elections, Dr Abiodun Ogundipe has expressed optimism of picking the party ticket at the primary and subsequently becoming successor of Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Penpushing reports that Ogundipe expressed the confidence at stakeholders meeting of the party held at Baptist Conference Hall located in Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, adding that he had prepared before venturing into the race, adding that he is interested in genuine welfare of the citizens and residents.
The Artificial Intelligence (AI) expert added that he resolved to return to the country to add value to governance, having been born into politics by his parents who are also veteran and prominent politicians, explaining that his father was a former member Federal House of Representatives while her mother was a woman leader in the state.
“I am genuine and bonafide Egba indigene. I was born into politics; my parents are renowned politicians. We have never loose elections in my family. My focus is on welfare of the citizens, that is why I want to serve as Governor in 2027’, he emphasised
Penpushing further reports that Ogundipe disclosed that as part of efforts to make African Democratic Congress (ADC), relevant he had personally spent N30million to members for their membership cards.
The leading aspirant explained that this was to put the party in good shape, and same vein, secures secretariat for the party in four local government areas of the state, as well as offering scholarship to indigent students, adding that his exposure abroad will be added value to his administration and populace.
“Before I resolved to contest. I have conducted my findings and I am ready. We are in this race to the end. You have to practice politics before serving. I am comfortable but want to make sacrifices to serve’, he stated
Penpushing also reports that the Egba born politician popularly called BCO emphasized that he is a grassroots politician and assured party members across the twenty local government areas in attendance at the meeting, that, he would consider home based politicians as members of his cabinet.
The aerospace engineer, technologist and social innovator declared that he is a loyal member of the party, who is in the heart of national leadership of African Democratic Congress (ADC), stressing that he would not at any time derail from policy and decisions of the party
