The Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has assured that he would ensure that the new president to take over from him in 2023 is elected through a peaceful and transparent process, as he expressed satisfaction on the party primaries.
Penpushing reports that, Buhari gave the assurance on Sunday in his address to Nigerians, to mark the June 12, 2022 Democracy Day, stressing that he is committed to leave office on May 29, 2023 with a responsible successor.
“I remain committed and determined to ensure that the new president is elected through a peaceful and transparent process. I followed the party primaries closely from the state level to the Presidential level’.
‘I was very impressed to see across all the political parties that, most candidates ran issued-based campaigns. The language and tone throughout were on the whole measured and controlled”, Buhari added
