Former Nigerian Ambassador to United Kingdom Sarafa Ishola has disclosed that he was almost got killed during June 12, 1993 political crisis, as a result of misinformation against him by some purveyors of falsehood in the society.

The renowned politician therefore cautioned those behind the protest threat against the Nigerian government to jaw jaw rather than war war, adding it should be known that social miscreants always take opportunity of protest to cause havoc, hence, the need for those planning to retrace their steps in the interest of the country and citizens.

The former diplomat emphasized that President Bola Tinubu also shared agony the citizens are currently experiencing, recalling that the President has asked for patience, to enable him addressed the worrisome situation

“I have spoken to a lot of people as far as am concerned, in a presidential system of government, the government needs minimum of two years before you can take this kind of procedure and that is why the President has asked for patience. He has demonstrated that he is feeling the pains of Nigeria and I am not holding forth for him, when you talk to him directly, you will know he is feeling for an average Nigerians’, he said

“He must also appreciate the background he has come from and I know very well that protests are usually hijacked by some other elements. I was a victim of that, I nearly got killed during, Abiola June 12 saga on the account of misinformation’, Ishola stated.

‘You recall how Fagbems house was burnt down. There are so many unscrupulous elements that can hijack this protest. If is something that is going to be peaceful why not, the intelligence report is showing a lot of violence and let me tell you, I knew what happen that time and it was not the best’, he added

‘I am appealing to them not to protest this position I have maintained even when President Buhari came in, I maintained the position, minimum of two years to protest against the government’, the former ambassador emphasized
